Pinsent Masons Waste Group
Industry focussed experience enables clients to achieve their commercial goals
Pinsent Masons’ Waste Group has been active in the market for over 15 years with a considerable track record in new and emerging waste treatment technologies. These include mechanical and biological treatment plants, composting facilities and energy from waste projects ranging from simple incineration to gasification as well as other combined heat and power methods.
The Waste Group is described by Chambers & Partners as “particularly well known for its strength in the PPP waste market, and is acknowledged as ‘knowing this market better than any other firm we’ve come across‘.”
The Waste Group also advises on all environmental law aspects of day to day operations. From site assessment and permitting regimes to the impact of regional, national and international law and policy and their application to regulatory regimes, development projects, commercial and industrial waste arisings or tenders for waste treatment, collection and/or disposal or treatment contracts.
We have taken a leading role in the development of wider strategy and procurement policy in relation to the UK waste market. Members of the Waste Group sit on the Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Waste Group, the Department for Trade & Industry’s Environmental Services Advisory Group and the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management.
